FuelLog is operated by The Fuel Log LLC. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. What We Collect
When you use FuelLog, we collect:
- Account information: Your name, email address, and password (hashed — we never store plain text passwords)
- Profile data: Age, gender, height, weight, fitness goals, and activity level — used to calculate your macro targets
- Food logs: Meals and foods you log, including text descriptions and estimated macro data
- SMS data (Premium): Phone number and text message content submitted for meal logging
- Usage data: Basic app usage information to help us improve the product
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide the FuelLog service — logging meals, calculating macros, tracking progress
- To calculate personalized macro targets based on your profile
- To send SMS responses (Premium subscribers)
- To send transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets)
- To improve accuracy and features of the app
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Ever.
We do not share your mobile phone number with third parties for their marketing purposes. Mobile phone numbers collected for SMS logging are used solely to deliver FuelLog's SMS meal logging service and are never shared with or sold to third parties for marketing or any other purpose.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate FuelLog:
- OpenAI — AI-powered macro parsing from your food descriptions. Food text is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI Privacy Policy

- Stripe — Payment processing. We do not store credit card details — Stripe handles all payment data. Stripe Privacy Policy
4. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is 100% secure — if you suspect a breach, contact us immediately.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Opt out of SMS messages at any time by texting STOP

7. Children's Privacy
